It is noteworthy that the beeswax melts between 62 and 64oC and that at a temperature of just under 90° Nosema and spores are neutralized, also that the wax sterilization is done between 120 to 130oC for 30 minutes.
It is to be noted that when heating the wax above 85oC it will begin to darken, that is, it will have a burning appearance.
With the sterilization of the wax any type of life or germ is eliminated, such as American, etc. and a clean and healthy wax is ensured.
Take special care with putting the wax at more than 180oC since at this temperature the wax burns, especially at 204.4oC which is the theoretical flash point of pure bee wax.
