An escape beekeeping is a device that is placed between the brood box and the honey super super to allow the bees to exit the super but can't return. Its main function is to facilitate the honey extraction without the need to brush or smoke excessively.

The escape acts as one one-way valve: the bees pass through it to return to the brood box, but cannot find the reverse output to return to the super. In 12 to 24 hours, most bees leave the super, leaving it almost empty and ready to extract the honey.
