Layens Plastic Foundation for Wooden Frames

Food-grade polypropylene plastic foundation for Layens wooden frames. The wooden frame is not included.

To install the foundation, the wooden frame must be manufactured with internal grooves approximately 2–3 mm wide along the side bars, top bar and bottom bar.

The foundation measures 304 × 358 mm, excluding the overlapping fixing tabs. These tabs hold the foundation securely inside the wooden frame, so no wiring is required.

Available individually or in boxes of 74 units.

Important: before placing the foundation in the hive, we recommend coating it with a thin layer of clean, filtered beeswax to encourage acceptance by the bees.
