Plastic pollen catcher for beekeeping use.
The beekeeper collects the bee pollen using a pollen trap called a pollen catcher. The pollen collected in these traps in the form of balls have a high humidity level of around 15%, so if it is not stored and collected correctly it can lose properties. The beekeeper must take the pollen tray at least once a day and dry or freeze for proper conservation.
Pollen drying must be done in a pollen dryer with temperatures below 40ºC (if it is 37ºC better), after 24 hours the humidity level must be between 5 and 8%. Never dry in the sun.
Storage of pollen once dry should be done in a cool and well-ventilated place protected from light. The ideal thing would be to keep it in a cold room and vacuum packed.
