The Kit number 7 for beeswax foundation production includes the machinery required to melt, maintain the temperature and transform wax from your own apiary into Langstroth beeswax foundation sheets.

It is intended for beekeepers who want to control the origin and quality of their own wax, reduce their dependence on externally supplied foundation and make use of wax recovered from cappings, renewed combs and other apiary work.

The wax melting tank keeps the wax liquid at a regulated temperature, making it easier to pour into the press. The Puff® press forms the sheet using a water-cooled silicone mould, producing a uniform and clearly defined cell pattern.

How the equipment works:

• The wax is placed inside the melting tank to melt it and maintain it at a constant temperature.
• The liquid wax is poured onto the lower section of the silicone mould.
• The press is closed and held down while the cooling system solidifies the foundation sheet.
• Once cooled, the mould is opened and the finished sheet is carefully removed.
• Any excess wax can be recovered and returned to the melting tank.

The system allows beekeepers to produce foundation using their own wax, providing greater control over its purity and avoiding mixtures of unknown origin. With practice and the correct working temperature, the press can achieve an approximate output of 40 to 60 foundation sheets per hour.

The press uses a silicone mould that reproduces the cell pattern directly onto the wax. This system does not require rollers and allows the thickness of the sheet to be adjusted through the amount of wax poured, the wax temperature and the closing pressure.

Cooling is provided by an internal water circuit. A nearby water supply and a suitable drain outlet are required. Before starting, it is recommended to remove any air from the circuit and moisten the mould according to the operating instructions.
