This valve is the solution to use when the honey container is lower than the honey inlet of the packaging machine.
In other words, the backflow valve prevents air from entering the honey return line.
This valve is recommended and necessary for packaging very liquid honey and for suctioning from below the packaging machine.

When should a backflow valve be used on the Dana API 1000 packaging machine?
The backflow valve prevents air from entering the honey caused by backflow. This means that when the packaging machine stops suctioning, the honey flows in the opposite direction due to gravity.
If the honey drum is lower than the filling machine and the operator takes a break during the packaging process, the honey can flow back into the hose, causing air to enter the suction line when the packaging machine is started again.
