Lyson® Queen Cage Introduction on Brood-Type 3.

Ref: SUCRIA_021E
3.00 €

Lyson brand queen cage on a frame for introduction to nascent brood, type 3. Made of flexible plastic, it guarantees durability and long-term use.
The introduction cage on a frame for fertilized queens and nascent brood also serves as isolation or queen handling.
The cage is nailed to the frame, with a front cap with a tie to prevent loss.

Instructions for use:
In spring, it is possible to replace a sterile or old queen, or even in a queenless hive.
Secure the cage to the frame, capturing some of the closed brood about to emerge and some food if possible.
Then, place the young queen through the hole in the cage and close the lid, or seal the hole with candy if you want her to release herself.
The queen should be kept in the hive for 2 to 6 days, depending on the season and conditions.

The brood will begin to hatch and will mistake the new queen for her own.
You can then open the feeding compartment from outside the cage, or have the bees release the queen through the candy buffer, or simply remove the cage from the comb, monitoring the bees' acceptance of the queen.
Before inserting the young queen, you can also place the old queen inside the cage for one or two days, then remove the old queen and replace it with the new one.
Supplied per unit.
