Plastic inner cover with built-in vents , designed to facilitate the removal of bees from the supers before honey extraction. It is a practical solution for beekeepers who want to remove the supers with less smoke, less frame brushing, and less stress for the hive.

This inner cover for removing bees is placed between the brood chamber and the supers that are to be harvested. The bees naturally descend into the hive body, attracted by the brood, the warmth, and the colony's activity, while escapes make it difficult for them to return to the supers.

It incorporates a very complete evacuation system, consisting of a central 16-way exit and four rhomboidal exits located in the corners. This distribution helps the bees find different exit points, resulting in more uniform bee removal across the entire surface of the hive body.

It's a very useful tool during the harvest, especially for working more cleanly in the apiary and reducing the number of bees entering the extraction room. By not having to shake so many frames or use excessive smoke, management is improved and working time is reduced for each hive.

Recommended use:

  • Place the inner cover the evening before harvesting, between the brood chamber and the supers.
  • Position the escapes so that the bees can descend towards the body of the hive.
  • Check beforehand that the queen is not in the supers, especially if working without a queen excluder.
  • Check that the inner cover fits well and does not leave any side gaps through which bees can pass.
  • Remove the supers the next day, when most of the bees have descended.

For best results, it's important that the hive is tightly sealed and that there are no alternative passageways between the hive body and the honey super. If the bees find gaps, the escape effect is reduced and the removal process may be less effective.

The typical working time is around 12-14 hours under normal conditions, although this can vary depending on the strength of the hive, the temperature, the nectar flow, and the bees' behavior. During heavy honey flows or in very hot weather, some bees may remain behind, but even then, the manual bee removal work is significantly reduced.

Made of rigid ABS plastic , it is a lightweight, durable piece that is easy to clean after use. Its design allows it to be used in harvesting campaigns, transhumance, or extraction work where speed, convenience, and minimal handling of the bees are desired.

Main advantages:

  • It allows you to remove bees from the supers without having to shake frame by frame.
  • Reduce the use of smoke during honey removal.
  • It reduces colony stress and the risk of bites.
  • It helps to bring cleaner supers to the honey factory.
  • System with multiple exits for a more distributed evacuation.
  • Lightweight, practical and reusable product.
