Introduction to tempqueen.
The TempQueen consists of a plastic substance release device, which contains a specific amount of Queen's Mandibular Pheromone (QMP). QMP is a precise mixture of 5 biochemical pheromone substances, exactly duplicating that found in the queen of honey bees.
Introduced in a honeycomb or group of bees, the TempQueen is treated like the queen. Scientific studies have shown that the TempQueen can be used successfully in the following applications: (see uses of tempqueen).

Uses of tempqueen.

• Improvement of the reproductive capacity of the queen. The TempQueen, when used on queen mating nuclei in early spring, can maintain significantly higher numbers of bees than on untreated nuclei. Insert a TempQueen bait into each mating nucleus when it is stabilized or when the queen cell is inserted.
• Dispatch packages without a queen. The TempQueen calms bees that have been shipped in queenless packages. Place the TempQueen bait as if it were a queen cage.
• Collect after swarm removal. Studies have shown that a capture box containing TempQueen captured stragglers after swarm removal.
• Keep nuclei and divisions without queen. TempQueen can hold units that do not have a queen for several days. Insert a TempQueen between the two center brood squares of the ready unit.
