Formic acid is an organic acid with a single carbon atom, and therefore the simplest of the organic acids.
It is highly corrosive and must be handled with care and all necessary safety measures taken.
Available at 60% and 85%.
Formic acid being very corrosive, goggles, gloves and a protective mask should be worn.

Formic acid has different uses and applications in beekeeping, such as the elimination of fats, residues, cleaning of propolis gloves, etc. It should not be used to control varroa.

The application of formic acid to control varroa is not allowed in Spain, if it is allowed in other countries of the European Union, so it should only be used in countries that are allowed according to current legislation.
