Biological control of the varroa mite or the trachea mite with formic acid.
Formic acid is a natural substance that controls the varroa mite and the trachea mite. The pest is controlled by creating an acidic environment.
The FAM diffuser was developed by the Swiss Bee Research Center.
The diffuser is placed on top of the squares of the hive, the formic acid evaporates and fights the varroa.
The FAM diffuser adapts easily to particular climates, it has been tested, it does not leave any residue in honey or wax, it is reusable for many years.
Composed of the plastic base plate, the sponge and the lid with the rotating disk to be able to adjust the amount of evaporation.

The application of formic acid to control varroa is not allowed in Spain, if it is allowed in other countries of the European Union. This device can be used with those brands and in those countries that are allowed according to current legislation.
