Lot that includes a jar with a lid with a grid and a 100 ml calibrating glass, approximately 13 centimeters high and an approximate diameter of 12 centimeters.

  • June.

    • How do you do it?
  • Catch bees with the calibrated glass from the brood area of ??a frame.
  • Pour the bees with the calibrated glass (approximately 200 bees) into the jar and carefully close the jar with the mesh lid.
  • Pour about five heaping tablespoons of icing sugar (approx. 35 g) through the rack of the pot.
  • Gently shake the mixture so that all the bees are covered with icing sugar.
  • Wait about three minutes and let the mixture of bees and sugar rest.
  • We place a white container or a white plate with a finger of water (not included in the batch) and shake it over so that the sugar and the varroas fall and thus they will float in the water and the sugar will dissolve.
  • Mites can now be counted.
  • The bees are returned to the hive.
